What AAHA Accreditation Means for You and Your Pet
What is AAHA Accreditation?
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is the only organization that accredits companion animal hospitals in North America. Accreditation is completely voluntary and involves an in-depth evaluation of hospital protocols, facilities, and medical practices. To earn and maintain AAHA accreditation, animal hospitals must meet or exceed over 900 standards covering every aspect of veterinary medicine – from preventive care and anesthesia to surgery, diagnostics, pain management, patient safety, and client communication.
These standards are updated regularly to ensure accredited hospitals provide the most advanced, effective, and safe care available in veterinary medicine today.
